This week wrapped up my 10 day ALL LOCAL style diary for Glamour Magazine SA I am both proud to be one of the few exclusively local style diaries they have had.
I think we as South Africans need to realise that when we start hyping our own trends and fellow African designers not just the internationals who steal them, our fashion industry will explode.
Cannot wait for the time I will see local bloggers and local fashion folk pushing the local brands and not just these fast fashion conglomerates. You should read Riaan's poem on fast fashion on my movement tab.
Lets talk about the last 5 looks.
I loved this Velvet Hat that I claimed on set. I dig the 80's English mod style about it. This incredibly comfy Bodysuit Outlined By Paige Martins has become a firm fave and the best part is the tailored fit of it. My boot are my personal best from their fringe collection and can be found on the Dolce Vita website.
This Jumpsuit from theHive Amara was hand made and painted with King protea detailing is a dream. It made me feel both girly and sexy which is my killer combo. I decided to make the focal point the jumpsuit so used my beloved Lace Wig from Isis Hair Africa.
I love Aimmea and this ribbed Polarneck sleeveless dress is no exception. I love the fit and feel of the dress and is perfect for Autumn. To add a bit of colour I layered it with an African Print corset by Kgosi Ray. To bring out the earthy tones in the corset I paired with delicious brown brogues with side cutout detail from Dolce Vita and keeping in line with the look and feel added rope cuffs by Christal K.
This is my best look for week 2. I have always loved bell bottoms and sleeves from little so this was just a winner to me and the fact that it is sheer with linear details rocks my world. This extra large Bell Sleeve Sheer shirt from Outlined By Paige Martins is a must including the bra, which is satin with an amazing under wire effect. So me. I paired with Black & gold acid wash leggings from Portobello Road and fierce heels from Dolce Vita.
To end off my love local style diary I had to add my fave Issa Leo suede SA Blag Flag peak cap. I wore it with a Long Sleeve Crop top from Portoello Road along with a Vintage Belt. My black jeans is from Cloak And Dagger. I spiced up this simple look with a harness from Outlined By Paige Martins and Thigh High Boots from Mr Price.
I hope you enjoyed a peak into my personal style and hopefully it inspired you to buy local.
Big love to Glamour Magazine and everyone who like shared and went out to buy some of the threads featured. Love Local
