Tonight at the Labia Theatre in Gardens, Adidas Skateboarding celebrated the launch of Away Days, the first full-length skate film from the brand.
I must admit i love these more intimate underground kind of events. It is always awesome getting to be around the actual people the brand is targeting. It makes it more genuine in a way. You could see everyone was super amped.
Showcasing the entire global and international roster of team riders in over 90+ cities, the film features back-to-back parts from the world’s greatest riders in modern street skating and captures some of the biggest moments and tricks ever documented in any skate film.
We arrived at a packed venue with Burgers and HotDogs on the menu and of course a stocked bar. My fiance is a bmx rider so it was good seeing some of the peeps we always get at the events.
We were all hushered along into the cinema with popcorn and drinks in hand. It was like being at home everyone was laughing oooohing and aaaahhhhhing and of course shouting for their fave skaters as they took the screen. Had the best time snapping all the excitment.
The talent and tricks was amazing and you could sense the pride and importance this movie gave to their beloved sport.
It always makes me so amped when I see big brands investing in the passions of the people who support them. It becomes more then just threads.
